아촌도의 Asador Etxebarri, The 50 Best Restaurants 2026에서 세계 최고 레스토랑 1위 선정

스페인 아촌도에 있는 Asador Etxebarri가 S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna의 후원으로 열린 The 50 Best Restaurants 2026에서 The World's Best Restaurant로 선정됐다. 명단 발표를 위해 미식계 인사들이 페루 리마에 모였고, 순위는 Teatro Municipal de Lima에서 공개됐다. 이번 순위는 6개 대륙 28개 지역 요리의 우수성을 인정한 결과다.

오너 셰프 Victor Arguinzoniz가 이끄는 Asador Etxebarri는 바스크식 장작불 요리의 정수를 완성해냈다. 소박한 식재료를 14개 코스로 구성된 메뉴 속에서 걸작으로 탈바꿈시킨다. 이 식당에 이어 방콕의 Gaggan(No.2)과 코펜하겐의 Alchemist(No.3)가 순위에 이름을 올렸다.

The 50의 행사 총괄이사 Rikki Tidball은 “S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna가 후원하는 The 50 Best Restaurants 2026은 전 세계 최고 수준의 호스피탈리티를 기리는 자리다. 올해의 1-50 순위를 발표하게 되어 기쁘다”고 말했다.

이번 명단에서는 레스토랑 11곳이 1-50 명단에 처음 진입했으며, 5곳은 재진입했다.

아촌도의 Asador Etxebarri(No.1)는 The Best Restaurant in Europe을, 방콕의 Gaggan(No.2)은 The Best Restaurant in Asia를 수상했다. 멕시코 시티의 Quintonil(No.4)은 Latam Airlines가 후원하는 The Best Restaurant in Latin America를 받았으며, 뉴욕의 Atomix(No.11)는 The Best Restaurant in North America를 차지했다. 두바이의 Trèsind Studio(No.28)는 The Best Restaurant in the Middle East를, 케이프 타운의 La Colombe(No.35)는 The Best Restaurant in Africa를, 시드니의 Saint Peter(No.50)는 The Best Restaurant in Oceania를 수상했다.

상파울루의 Tuju(No.16)는 Gloria가 후원하는 Highest New Entry Award를 받았다. 코펜하겐의 Kadeau(No.8)는 Supermercados Wong이 후원하는 Highest Climber Award를 차지했다. Al Gatto Verde(No.24)의 수석 셰프 Jessica Rosval은 Lexus가 후원하는 Best Female Chef Award를 수상했다. El Bulli의 Ferran Adrià는 SevenRooms Icon Award의 주인공이 됐다.

뉴욕시 Atomix(No.11)의 Junghyun Park은 Estrella Damm Chefs' Choice Award를 받았다. Dej Kewkacha는 Sosa가 후원하는 Best Pastry Chef Award를 수상했다.

싱가포르 Odette에서 근무하는 수석 소믈리에 Lesley Liu는 Vik가 후원하는 Best Sommelier Award를 받았다. 카사울리의 Naar(No.49)는 Sustainable Restaurant Award를 차지했다.

Doris Lam은 Parmigiano Reggiano와 협력해 수여하는 The 50 Best Restaurants Scholarship을 받았다.

Ghana Food Movement는 illycaffè가 후원하는 Champions of Change Award를, Tuju는 Art of Hospitality Award를, Yiaga는 Visa One to Watch Award를 수상했다.
